Chetham’s School of Music and Wood Street Mission

Since October 2024, Chetham’s School of Music and Wood Street Mission have been working together to offer music workshops for children aged 9-13 from Salford and Manchester on free school meals.

Activities take place during the school holidays and have included beatboxing, songwriting, band skills, singing and drumming. In July, Make Some Noise will take over Stoller Hall in the centre of Manchester, bringing together all the skills children have learned over the year, to create new music written and performed by the children.

Supported by amazing professional musicians and facilitators, children grow their musical skills, but also develop confidence, team work, creativity, communication and can feel proud of their work.
